Paddington Bear – FORDHAM

In the Autumn of last year, Studio10 was approached by a family to commission a child’s birthday surprise bedroom mural across three walls, featuring the child’s favourite literature character, Paddington Bear!
Padding Bear is a well-known, charismatic character who is loved by many. Because of his popularity, his character and look are known extremely well, and any tiny mistake could change Paddingtons whole persona. This created the obstacle of imitating Paddington Bear perfectly.
However, Studio10 loves a challenge, so I got to work right away.
Upon arrival, it was clear just how much Paddington Bear was adored. With Paddington-themed covers, blankets, books, and teddies, it was clear this was going to be one very special mural!
This piece was heavily centred around the perfect imitation of Paddington Bear from the recent Paddington Bear Netflix series. However, I was also able to blend my own ideas and style into the piece by adding extras such as a broken wall with a gradient of colours in the background. This resulted in a Paddington Bear wall mural that’s completely different and special.
To completely personalise this Paddington Bear mural wall piece, the family requested the child’s name and a few favourite quotes to be incorporated. Even though this was sprung on me the day I started, I knew this would only make this bedroom extra unique.
I believe there is also a nostalgic element to this mural design. After the request of adding an old feature (a tag) from the Paddington Bear show from the 70s, I knew Paddington Bear was loved by more than just the daughter.
After 3 days of work, Paddington Bear could be found causing mischief across three bedroom walls and was ready in time to be a very special 3rd birthday surprise!
Sweet, charming, and bespoke, the Paddington Bear wall mural was a huge hit with the whole family. Studio10 enjoyed bringing it to life!
